How do I play?

Read the definition, then tap the tiles to spell the word that fits, using every tile. You have four tries. After each try, letters in the right place turn orange and stay put.

How do hints work?

You can reveal a letter up to three times per puzzle. A revealed letter turns gold, and hints show in your score.

When does the next puzzle arrive?

At midnight, in your device's time zone.

Can I play past puzzles?

No. Defind has one puzzle a day, and it's always today's.

Why did my streak or history disappear?

Your games are saved only on your device, so deleting the app erases them, and we have no copy to restore. Restoring your device from a backup may bring them back.

Does Defind cost anything?

No. It's free, with no ads and no account, and it works offline.

Is Defind on Android?

Not yet. It's coming to iPhone first.

What data do you collect?

None through the app. See the privacy policy.
